The Add Image Tool allows you to upload images or take photos to add to your slide.
Students use the Add Image Tool to:
Upload a picture of their work
Add visuals
Take a photo using their device camera
1) Upload a PDF or Image File
To upload PDF or image files,
1. Click the Add Image icon.
2. Select Upload from computer.
3. Choose your file and click Open.
4. (Optional) Crop the area you wish to upload
5. Click NEXT.
6. Click FINISH to add the image to the slide.
NOTE: The image will be added to the current slide.
You can add the same image multiple times.
OPTIONAL:
7. Click ADD ANOTHER to select another page from the same file.
- Adding multiple images from the same file will add all images to the current slide.
NOTE: If you want to upload a different file, you must finish inserting the current file first.
2) Take a Picture Using Your Camera
To capture an image,
1. Click the Add Image icon.
2. Select Camera.
- You may need to allow permission if you have not already.
3. Your device's camera will open.
4. Click CAPTURE to take the picture.
5. Crop your image if needed.
6. Resize, rotate, or move the image on the slide.
3) Copy and Paste Images
You can also paste images directly into a slide using the Duplicate Elements tool or keyboard shortcuts.
Duplicate Elements:
1. Click on the manipulative.
2. Select the Duplicate Elements icon in the toolbar.
Keyboard Shortcuts:
To copy an image:
- Windows: CTRL + C
- Mac: COMMAND + C
Then paste the image:
- Windows: CTRL + V
- Mac: COMMAND + V
This works for images copied from:
Google Docs
Slides
Websites
Screenshots
Another quick way to add pictures is to simply use your keyboard shortcuts and copy/paste.
4) Troubleshooting
I’m trying to upload multiple PDFs, but it won’t let me
If you are uploading pages from the same PDF file, click ADD ANOTHER before clicking FINISH.
If you want to upload a different PDF file, click FINISH to insert the current file first.
Once the slides are added, click the Add Image icon again to upload the next PDF.
My camera won’t open
If the Camera option does not launch:
Check that your browser has permission to access your camera.
Refresh the page.
Try another browser (such as Safari).
If you still experience issues, please Submit a Support Request.
I can't record using the tool
At this time, the Add Image tool can only add a picture, not record a video. To add a video, use the Link Tool
