For Windows Users
Follow these steps if you are using a Windows PC.
Step 1: Autohide the Windows Taskbar
- Right-click on an empty space on the Taskbar.
- Select Taskbar settings.
- Expand Taskbar behaviors.
- Check the box for "Automatically hide the taskbar".
The taskbar will now slide out of view and reappear when you move your mouse to the bottom edge of the screen.
Step 2: Configure Chrome on Windows
A. Hide the Bookmark Bar in Chrome
You can toggle the visibility of the bookmark bar using one of the following methods:
- Shortcut Method: Press
Ctrl + Shift + B
- Menu Method:
- Click the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner of Chrome.
- Go to Bookmarks.
- Uncheck "Show bookmarks bar".
This is a persistent setting; the bar will remain hidden until you toggle it back on.
B. Go Full Screen in Chrome (Autohides Tab Bar & Address Bar)
Chrome's full-screen mode will hide the tab bar, address bar, and any extensions.
- Shortcut Method: Press
F11
(PressF11
again to exit full-screen mode.) - Menu Method:
- Click the three-dot menu (⋮).
- Locate the Zoom section.
- Click the full-screen icon (it looks like a square with outward-pointing corners).
Once Chrome is in full-screen mode:
- The tab bar, address bar, and extensions will automatically disappear.
- To temporarily reveal them, move your mouse cursor to the very top edge of your screen. They will slide down into view.
- When you move your mouse away from the top edge, they will slide back up and hide again.
For macOS Users
Follow these steps if you are using a Mac.
Step 1: Autohide the macOS Dock
- Go to Apple menu () System Settings (on newer macOS) or System Preferences (on older macOS).
- Click on Desktop & Dock in the sidebar.
- Scroll down to the "Dock" section.
- Enable the toggle for "Automatically hide and show the Dock".
The Dock will now slide out of view and reappear when you move your mouse to the edge of the screen where the Dock is positioned.
Step 2: Configure Chrome on macOS
A. Hide the Bookmark Bar in Chrome

- Select "Autohide shelf".
The Shelf will now slide out of view and reappear when you move your mouse to the edge of the screen where the Shelf is positioned.
