Classkick includes a Text to Speech feature that reads supported text aloud for both teachers and students.
Text to Speech works on:
- Text boxes created in Classkick
- Fill in the Blank boxes
- Imported text from PDFs (iOS app only)
1) Turn On Text to Speech
To enable Text to Speech:
1. Open an assignment.
2. Click on a slide.
3. Click the Speaker icon in the toolbar.
When enabled, speaker icons appear next to supported text.
On iOS:
You may need to scroll along the toolbar (especially in portrait mode) to locate the speaker icon.
2) Listen to Text
Once Text to Speech is turned on:
1. Click the Speaker icon next to a text box.
2. The text will be read aloud.
On Web:
A speaker icon appears next to the text box.
On iOS:
Green speaker icons appear next to supported text areas.
3) Turn Off Text to Speech
To disable the feature:
- Click the Speaker icon in the toolbar again.
When the feauture has been disabled, the speaker icons will be removed.
4) Important Notes
- Text to Speech reads text inside:
- Text boxes
- Fill in the Blank boxes.
- On iOS, imported PDF text can also be read aloud.
- Teachers and students can use the Text to Speech feature.
- Teachers cannot disable this feature for students.

If you do not see speaker icons:
Make sure Text to Speech is toggled ON in the toolbar.
Confirm the text is inside a supported text box.
