As an ed tech company who values advocating for learners, Classkick’s mission to create an accessible product is integral to us. Classkick is a team of mostly former teachers. This experience helps drive the company to make sure our platform is as user friendly as possible.
As a quickly growing company, Classkick is always working to make our product better.
To create a better overall experience for our users, we’re looking into ways to improve Classkick and remove as many barriers as possible to provide a more accessible and inclusive product.
Our roadmap includes plans to improve equitable access for all users, regardless of ability, situation, or context.
We are working toward becoming ADA and WCAG compliant.
Classkick has many features that help create an accessible experience in the classroom.
1) Audio Tool and Text to Speech
Classkick has an audio tool feature where users can record their answers.
This feature is helpful for:
- learners who struggle with writing and need to give oral feedback
- teachers can record themselves reading an assignment
- learners who have accommodations that require an educator to read aloud work, tests, etc.
Please check out this Audio Tool feature along with our Text to Speech Tool.
2) Pen Tool and Text Box Tool
Teachers can also use the pen tool, text box, or audio tool to give their students the option to respond as they so choose. Please check out our Pen Tool and Text Box Tool.
3) Camera Tool
Students that need to handwrite their work can use the camera tool feature to capture their hard work and share it in an assignment. Please check out the Camera Tool feature here.
4) Chat Feature
We also have a private chat feature where students can ask their teacher for help.
This feature is helpful for:
- students who struggle with asking for help in front of others
- non-verbal students
- the learner who requires an easier way of communicating
Please check out our Chat Feature here.
